Why a medallion and not a coin? Why are 1 oz. coins selling for $100+ but a 1 oz medallion for $49.95?

Better to be a coin.
I am not sure that this is "medallion"....looks like just round.

But 1oz RCM coin with the NASCAR theme - there is a chance that I would get it, and medallion/round - no, thanks.

Btw, Dodge has celebrated 100-th anniversary in the 2014, the greatest of these cars being manufactured here, in Ontario (perfect Canadian connection)...an no coin.

It's truly telling that the RCM is producing this trinket and to your point Jackalope, if they can sell a 1oz medallion with matter proof finish for 50 bucks, why are we paying $100 for something similar simply because it has a token (sorry for the pun) denomination?!

Per CC&C specs:

Obverse: Queen Elizabeth II
Reverse: NASCAR race
Artist: Arturo Rotondo
Finish: Matte Proof
Quantity Produced: 30000
Monarch: Queen Elizabeth II
Theme(s): Sports

This is the coin medallion:

Ok, for the rest of this post, I apologize in advance.

Clearly, The Queen on the obverse is looking very.....tired.

If this medallion is 99.99% silver why is the Mint charging HST?

One guess the RCM is now going after the redneck customers, and the Queen looking tire that's a good one!
