Can't be D/S. they didn't make any S mint nickels that year . your coin is a little beat up, hard to tell maybe RPM or just PMD.

I do not see any signs of repunching but I can see that the mintmark has been damaged(diagonal contact mark from upper left to lower right).

Thanks, for chiming in.. Good pointers I agree with your thoughts as well. I'm just having a hard time making out whats behind the D, if there is anything. Don't know if ya'll can see but the damage on mint though it may look beneficial it does not make it easier for visual examine. I agree, I guess at this point no one can really offer a legitimate answer (self included) I shouldn't expect to much from the enthusiast's of Coin Community as well given my poor photography images does make easy thank you all.. I guess until I get some better shots in we all probably will just be sharing thoughts that wont lead to any conclusion.

Question, before I step out... Is it worth it? In premium rarity collector's item to go through the trouble of finding out the orgin of what happened to mint mark? Its important to me to know if it is or not worth the time. Thank you.
Rest in Peace

IMHO , It is not worth the time to go any further with this coin. common date ,common MM ,no D/S. like I said, either RP (D) MM or post mint damage.
No value in this condition.
