Very nice die crack. While it is not thick enough to list as a split die, it does fall into the category of rim to opposing rim die crack or bisecting Rim to Rim die cracks.

If you would like, I would put this die crack on site. All I need is a image of the full obverse, reverse and your name.

Thanks,
BJ Neff

You need better pictures. If it were me, I'd click on Cuds and Coins and give my real name. You are the discoverer and will go down in Numismatic history as such. This also increases the value of your coin.

I have this exact coin, same year, same exact crack. I found one for sale online, again exactly the same crack. However it seems that there are at least 3 of these that I have found ( including mine) so I would think there are more. Since there are other examples I'm surprised to see that it isn't listed as a variety. I know this is an old thread but any thoughts on this?

There is one listed here for this date. Looks very similar. Take a look: http://cuds-on-coins.com/rim-to-rim...u-s-coins-2/

Yeah, I saw where someone had suggested they put it on there, so I guess they did. When I google 1950 nickel die crack I get this forum and one for sale on I think bj coins. With mine there are three that I know exist. I got mine out of a bag of nickels that was part of my grandfather's collection, there was a 1950 d over horizontal d in there too, that's actually what I was looking for when I found the die crack
