This coin appears to have metal dripping from the U in Pluribus and also from the bottom of the steps. Could someone give me information on what this is considered? Thank you.

It's a die crack. Edit: If it is raised.

No that would be a decent sized die crack from the looks of it a jagged line going through coin that is raised is a die crack.

Looks like two of them, and very nice ones too. Hmm,,,, it is pretty straight. If it is not raised in the center of the line, then it's been scratched.

I think it is one big one :P haha .but no seriously it looks like it run down to the building and across the roof then down the middle of building all the way to the rim. I wish we could find later die states and watch how that progressed. That die might have just split in half ?

We could use a close-up. It could be cut, thereby displacing metal - giving it a raised appearance. If so, it's PSD.

Thank you both for the information. I will try to take better pictures tomorrow in the daylight. The line is raised and touches the rim above the top right of the U. It also touches the bottom rim if that helps. If it is a big die crack would it be worth something?

To someone yeah. People don''t really pay a premium for die cracks. I would keep it though since it is a good example of a die crack

If what you say is true, it would have good value. We need pictures to be sure it is raised. Close-ups of the line.

If it's a die crack it would have a premium. It might be considered a broken die.

Here are some better pictures. The orange picture shows the line going through the top right of the U to the rim. The other pics show the line reaching the bottom rim. What does everyone think?

I think the line may curve and connect through the roof. One big line as opposed to different ones. This shows up best on the orange picture. You can also see the faint connection under the steps in the first picture as well.

That is one very nice die crack. The die is not broken, but almost. If it was broken, the crack would extend into the rims and there would be metal displacement. It's the straightest and longest I've ever seen. There are people that collect the nicer ones. If it were mine, I wouldn't sell it for less than $40.00, you don't see them like this very often.
Rest in Peace

Very nice. I think the $40 value is in the ballpark.

I think you have what is rim to opposing rim die crack or bisecting Rim to Rim die cracks and it's not listed yet on Cuds-on-Coins.

If you want to get it listed.
