Whats the difference other than the binding? I bought the blue book cause the dealer said that the Red Book just has different binding.

The blue book is a listing of prices a dealer will pay you for your coin--i.e. wholesale.

The RedBook is a listing of prices you will pay the dealer for his coins--i.e. retail.

Having said this, the prices listed are not written in stone. RedBook is somewhat iffy. It is though good for comparing one coin to another.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense. SO I need to grab a Red Book too.

If that's what the dealer told you, that might be a dealer to avoid in the future.

WOW, if the coin dealer told you that, like "deadmunny" said I would definitely stay clear of him. He either doesn't know what he is talking about or he is trying to pull a fast one on you.

I don't think he'd be pulling a fast one, because the Red Book's prices are usually a bit higher than the Blue Book's (a dealer will obviously want to make a profit selling a coin). Both are, however, very good books. I own a Red Book, and it's like a brother to me.
