The annual Numismata Coin Bourse took place in Frankfurt this weekend.
It is THE major show in central Germany, and I was really looking forward to it.
I was not ready to spend (much) after quite large recent coin purchases, and just wanted to browse at ease the offerings of the many dealers who attend from all over europe. If at all, I was looking forward to maybe adding a roman denarius or bronze to my collection. Instead, I found these two U.S coins which I was happy to take home.

The 1829 cent is of the small (or medium) letters variety, and I think a Newcomb-5, R-3+. I grade it F15, maybe better, but does have distracting edge bumps visible on the revers and a stain on the cheek. Still, a nice coin which cost me 36 euros ($ 40).

The half dollar is a 'semi-key' 1892-S. I have an 1892-O, so even if much much lower grade than the '92-O it was still nice to have at 70 euros ($ 76).

How would you grade these two?

Thanks!

As a side comment I note that U.S coins, specially early type, are becoming exceedingly difficult to find at coin shows in Germany. The only types readily available are Morgans. They are everywhere! also some U.S gold and commemoratives show up.

The cent might be details due to rim damage on the reverse.

The half dollar grades a nice easy VG-8. Not sure if the obverse scratch near the headband would make it details.

Thanks. I was pretty excited about the 1829 cent because it is a medium letters variety and scarce as such. It is not as scarce as the 1830 N-6 medium letters, but still a good find and fully original with very nice surfaces. Pity about the edge bumps, it would probably grade details, but for the price I paid I am not complaining.

Cent - F details, rim bumps on reverse.

Half - G6 netted to G4 for scratch on primary focal point of obverse.

F details
VG details for the 92s, that scratch is very noticeable and looks deep....still a key date in the series though.

Sweet coins! Morgan dollars seem to be everywhere, I wonder if they are secretly multiplying when nobody is looking. Kind of like that Star Trek episode "The Trouble with Tribbles".

F12 Details. VG8+ although the scratch is in a key area I'm not sure its bad enough fir a VG coin to warrant a details grade

I thought I would add a couple of pictures of the show in case anybody is interested.
The Numismata is a 2 day show held in November at the Forum of the Messe Center in Frankfurt. It is one of the biggest in central germany and I am always looking forward to it.
It is held in a nice and well lit hall with good lighting conditions. Parking is scarce and expensive! I guess the food is also, but there is plenty of it. Dealers from all over europe attend, with some from overseas. In addition to PCGS, NGC and for the first time Heritage-Europe, all of the major german auction house are also present (Künker, Gorny & Mosch, others). As can be expected, the coins offered are primarily, german, european and world coins, with many dealers offering ancients coins. U.S coins are scarce and getting scarcer with the exception of morgans as noted above.
