Earlier this month Bank of Slovenia issued a commemorative 2 € coin.

Look for a moment at this picture:
Did-They-Think-This-One-Through?

It's supposed to read EMONA or AEMONA with latin number MM for 2000.
But ... Everytime I look at this coin I see words EMO MAN. And I'm not the only one. So instead of 2000 years of a city, the coin commemorates an emo superhero At least for some of us.

More info on the coin: https://www.bsi.si/en/banknotes-and...?MapaId=1676

It surprises me that this alterantive reading was not addressed earlier in the process... What do you guys think? What do you see?

'EAN MO'

Has to be one of the worst commemoratives I've seen so far, but there has to be worse ones, right?

Maybe Jimmy Eat World will write this coin a song of the heartfelt journey of a circulated coin in search of a loving collector for their next album.

EMO MAN at first glance... then I re-read and it says E MOAN... in any case I don't like the design, it is unclear and unimaginative, not to forget un-artistic.

Collects82: Haha, you made me laugh! Yes, it would be a stroy of self-exploration and trial. :)

Overall I agree - not only is it unclear, it's also bad designed. But that's not new for Slovenian 2€ CC coins. On a more positive note, I kind of like this one though: http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces11131.html

I keep reading it as EMO EAN. Not sure if that means anything.

Clockwise from top it is "MONAE".

I would have imposed my own expectations on it and read it as "MONETA".

But then, I've always found Slovenian coin art to be... well, way over my head. I'm more of a "literalist".
