No idea :(

If exoguy's around or another exo expert perhaps they can look it up in Brunk and see if it's been noted on any other denominations.

I found a couple of possibles:

C. A. Smith Lumber & Feed Company in Lowell, MA was around in 1879 and still exists

C(harles) A(xel) Smith & Co. did extensive logging in Minnesota and Oregon in the 1870s to the 1920s. They were very large for the time and also had an interest in the railroads in addition to the lumber business.
