I was looking in Charlton and CCN trends and I need some explanation about this one. In the CCN, the loonie for 2012 have 4 lines

2012 wich have value for Circulation and PL/NCLT
2012 common loo with both circulation and nclt values
2012 new laser with value in circulation only
2012 Lucky loonie
2012 Grey cup

In Charlton book, they said thay stop in 2011 the strike reserve for MRC product and they removed the values for the Non circulating issue. The old style loonie have only value for circulating. How about this in the CCN ? I' a bit confuse.

Thanks!

Simply put the 2012 loonie without the security features is the only one worth anything, they are as loonies goes kind of scarce only distributed for only a few weeks mainly in western Canada.

I have an older CCN here. from 2014
The CCN trend for 2012 "old style" loon dollar has circulation strikes and specimen strikes in the PL/NBU columns
(sp) next to the price listed.

The loonie in the 2012 Uncirculated Sets is the old style (PL/NBU)

That is correct Montgomery.

There is no strike difference from the uncirculated sets to regular coins from the bank in 2011 - present.

These sets just contain a regular struck loonie from Winnipeg, the same loonie you get in a regular roll

If both are the same strike, how do you understand the trend in CCN. Common loon line for 2012 have pricing only in NCLT range. The one above with no indication but have the same year have value for both circulation and NCLT. So there is only 4 versions of the 2012 loonie. In the trends of CCN, 5 lines exist for this one. What the meaning of the first line with no indication? I think only Pr version exist for the old style?

Charlton book have removed values in NCLT range since 2011.

Thanks!

error in the trend listing, it happens. modern Canadian coins can be that way

and error on my part, the "SP" is noted in the 2012 regular toonie in ccn

According to you, the first line should be removed and the second one trnsfert the value on the left side or just remove the right side (NCLT) on the first line and removed the second one to fix and have the proper value?

Thanks!

In 2012 the RCM did mint some double dollar set in silver with a plated loonie in these NCLT set but in the cheap sets like Oh Canada, etc. they just use a normal Winnipeg struck loonie, worth about 10.00, security design loonie worth a buck, if anyone ever breaks open the NCLT set what ever trends says I guess, the rest of them you can find at shows for like 2 bucks

I notice there was a common loon 25th Anniversay Loonie issued in 2012. The difference that I notice is the double date - 1987-2012 - appears on the coin.

For example:

Perhaps that's the reference for the listing on the second line.

Note - I notice I'm missing the anniversary edition from my collection as well.
