I went on my first metal detector hunt yesterday and ended pulling a 1949 British Hong Kong 10 cent. It is worth basically nothing so I would like to clean it up as a keepsake from my first hunt.
I have been trying to do a lot of research on cleaning this coin but it seems that it is either frowned upon, or there seem to be stupid suggestions like coke and lemon juice (which I would assume the acidity would be very bad for the coin).
That being the case, I do want to clean this nickel-brass coin. What's the best technique?
