Hi. I was looking at my 1964 United States Year Set and do not see the "VDB" on Lincoln? Is that common? Thanks?

Your last photo appears to show some die polishing scratches around the shoulder, it is not uncommon to find that the initials have been removed from excessive die abrading. VDB is incuse on the struck coin so it is a small positive relief feature on the die, thus making accidental removal easier.
