Or you could donate it to the ANA. They would be more than happy to take it, as I have donated a couple counterfeits myself.

It is definitely for counterfeiting, US coins have been struck by dies in a coining press since the start of the US Mint in 1793. They have never been made through casting. With the exception of some far eastern countries casting has almost never been the method used to create genuine coins. Mainly because cast coins would be too easy to counterfeit.
