I have actually wrote a message to go with this but have no idea were it is. OK I found this in my late uncles belongings and would like others to give me their opinions on weather it is real of not. I don't find copy or re-pro on it.

Rick

the surfaces look like they may have some porosity in them ,,without bigger scans ,,I'm leaning toward this being a cast copy .

By the way ,,I had set your info up in a new topic ,,but this is good !

What I was wondering about was the variety in the spelling of currency

You may try cross-posting at EAC (Early American Copper).

I totally missed that! Take a look at this page on Coinfacts, which has an example with the spelling as "CURENCY".

On the genuine coin, the date is squeezed together. Yours appears to be a very nice and desirable cast copy. Too many copies have a bluish-gray play money look.

Well, if you're going to put in on ebay, I'd first determine whether it's authentic or not.
Otherwise, you run the risk of buyers either doubting the coin--or bidding on the possibility of an authentic example.
Either way, it's not the best possible scenario.

According to Heritage Auction Galleries it is a desirable modern replica. But thank you for your concern.
