Central Bank of Malta - The Central Bank of Malta and MaltaPost p.l.c. will be launching a joint numismatic product commemorating the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) that will be held in Malta between 27 and 29 November 2015. This joint product will consist of a silver coin issued by the Central Bank of Malta, a silver stamp issued by MaltaPost p.l.c. and an engraved steel banknote plate produced by De La Rue.

Malta-To-Issue-Silver-Coin-And-Stamp-To-Honor-Heads-Of-Government-MeetingThe coin depicting Fort St Angelo, one of the CHOGM venues, is of proof quality and was minted at the Royal Dutch Mint. It is struck in 0.925 silver, has a weight of 28.28g and a diameter of 38.61mm. The silver stamp ingot depicts the official CHOGM logo. Produced by PAMP S.A., it has a weight of 20g and is made of 0.999 silver. The banknote engraving produced by De La Rue reproduces the £M10 banknote issued by the Central Bank of Malta in 1972.

This joint product is packed in a presentation case and is limited to 1,150 sets. Each set will be sold for €145 and may be purchased directly from the Malta Coins Distribution Centre at the main building of the Central Bank of Malta in Valletta, from MaltaPost branches or at http://www.maltaphilately.com.

An official presentation of this set was made to the Prime Minister of Malta, Joseph Muscat by Professor Josef Bonnici, Governor of the Central Bank of Malta and Mr Joseph Said, Chairman of MaltaPost p.l.c.
