Hi
I found this new coin that has the silver color between the letters and rim and on this one going SE of the D mm.

A couple of weeks ago coop identified this coin condition with one of his great photos in a post I put up and he called it a Split ? (I thought). I can't find that post he put in, so I checked the Numismatic Glossary here on the website for it a found nothing in the S's can someone please let tell me the name again for this type of die error? I think people on ebay are calling this a Die Break or Crack but coop and a different and of course the proper name for it.

Thanks

The plating has split it adds no value. Just damage from a crappy made coin :)

Uck. These "junk" coated zinc cents should be worth some major bucks in about a century, as NONE of them will have lasted that long. Even if they are intentionally saved, they are just so poorly made.

"Split plating" that is probably what coop called it. I realize there is no value as a error coin.

I am trying to get all the great info together that I get from all of you here on the forum. I am learning so much and I can use it for future reference when I am looking at coins.

Right now I just want to learn/learn/learn about coins.

Down the road (unless I really come across something spectacular) I may sell something and if I do want it do be legit.

Thank you both for your input.

Sandy
