I think you should have posted here before you bought it. It looks harshly cleaned.

All the sellers pics look like that, I did look thoroughly and I didn't see any major hairlines....This was a last minute bid so I didn't get a chance to post....I have been looking for a reasonably priced 1880 o for a while. My friend has a unc. but he is asking way too much.

Disagree SSK. Reverse looks original. Terrible lighting. At least you have 30 days with buyer paying return shipping, therefore you get your money back.

Be careful with the seller. Seems suspicious with that terrible feedback from selling cars in the past. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...negative_365LOL, he sold a guy a Chevelle SS and the guy ended up driving the distance to find out the car was sold. I'd be furious.

Terrible feedback, stupid things written on holder; not BU, not a gem, not even MS, not a key date, not rare, etc. Only thing they got right was the date, MM, and the fact that it's silver AU58, with a MAJOR gouge on forehead. Light wear on hair, cheek, reverse on wing tips of eagle and breast feathers. Cleaned, and no visible luster despite the direct overhead lighting visible in the picture. Send this one back. I have seen these holders before; I think they are the same holders used by "rojo-86" -- known for wildly inaccurate listings -- Probably whoever consigned this lot for auction had bought it from him. Seller's other listings (at least the slabs) are decent. The raw coins are okay but a couple are garbage: e.g. 301813631965 (a "rare" VAM-3 AND VAM-5 "DMPL" ! lol. that is heavily polished) Incidentally, seller is violating listing practices, and I see several of her items have already been delisted (keyword spamming.)

Quote: LOL, he sold a guy a Chevelle SS and the guy ended up driving the distance to find out the car was sold. I'd be furious. As an aside, I'm surprised they didn't get NARU'ed for this. Listing a non-existent item is fraudulent and usually results in a seller strike, if not an outright ban. Seller appears to be proxy listing (listing items on behalf of other owners) which is dangerous to do if items have not been consigned to you, and will get you kicked out pretty quick.

I'll double check when I get it but I got a feeling it'll be sent back. Was an impulse buy but the more I look at it the more I see flaws....good thing there is a return policy.

Be sure to save the flip you took the coin out of so worse comes to worst, you can return the entire coin intact. I would personally not buy any Morgan dollar that has so much of this "fluff" on it--unless, of course, I can get it for less than or equal to cull price.
