Please post images of both ends of the crack. Need to see if it goes on the rim or not to determine pre-cud or Retained Cud

I'm just guessing pre-cud because I can't really tell if it goes onto the rim. Also hard to see any displacement. There are some Cud experts that come on the forums though, they would spot your post easier if you had included " Cud crack" or similar in the title.

I believe it to be a Retained Cud and I would list it on COC. Please contact me about putting this coin on site. Thanks, BJ Neff

Some experts call this Pre- Cud, because there is no displacement. Displacement would show the die was broken.

http://www.coinworld.com/news/us-co...ve-room.htmlAccording to Mike diamond this is just a rim to rim die break . Coinmasters is correct when he says it has to have either vertical or horizontal displacement. I'm just trying to think here. Could we even say pre-cud? What if the die retires and never drops it? then it never ended up being a Cud so how could it then have been a pre-cud?

I believe Ken Potter calls it a Pre-Cud Die Break which is also a rim to rim die break. You have to use " Cud" even if it never comes about, because it might.

Sudz: If BJ wants it listed I say go for it :D He was the Cud expert I was referring to when I told you to update the title. Pre-cud and interior die break are verrrry close to being the same thing in my opinion. The difference is if the crack has made it to the rim. Another sign is slight or major displacement of the design.
