Ms64 and ms63 nice coins I'd send them out if you don't have a lot invested in them.

Seriously? Both of you are being honest? I didnt expect to hear that they were that nice and would grade that high. As I stated I am usually only intuitive AG coins and more modern coins. I love looking for errors and varieties. I have some other Au coins that I very much should look at again after your assessments. Thank you both very much.

Both do appear to be genuine but the pictures are tough to get a grasp on. These are common dates meaning thousands of pieces are known as surviving their original mintages. Certification is entirely up to you of course. For the peace of mind to know with 100% certainty they are genuine it is probably worth sending them to ANACS at least. The bad news is that gold prices are way down in the last few years and appear headed lower while we are at a sluggish time in the coin market as well. I'd guesstimate the 1915 G$5 piece to be AU+ and worth about $400 retail. The 1910 G$2.5 looks low AU and around $250 retail. If by chance they did grade low MS the value almost doubles but that would seem unlikely based on the images. Best of luck with your coins!

Agree, both high AU, with the '15 a hair better.

Thank you all for your input and advice. I was very much leaning towards the middle AU with the one '15 maybe a 58ish. I was kind of shocked to see MS response but it is fun to see. I'll probably end up sending them eventually as I've got 95 bucks in them total. Needless to say I didn't try to talk the man down with an offer of 95 bucks for them both. I had done decent amount of trades and things with him prior and he is a very genuine man so I was pretty certain they were legit. thank you all again

$95?
Even if I had been on a first name basis with the seller for years I'd still be suspicious, but CCF has some very smart folks when it comes to gold.

You could wack these with a hammer and STILL sell them for more than $95.

To clarify, the ma. I acquired them from is the same man that introduced me to this passion when I was 16. h Many times throughout the last 15 yrs he's made me some rather good deals. Often to bring my attention and scope into a ne, to me, area of Numismatics or because he had acquired the piece from his mentor and wished to create or carry on a tradition. I couldn't ever part with any of the pieces basically gifted to me as they mean more than money had power over me. I think you'd all freak out if I showed you the more high end coins I've never paid more than $100 for.
