decided to pass. I'm not too comfortable buying coins online seeing all these counterfeits... my LCS has hundreds of bust halves so ill have to get one from there

The referenced coin looks fine to me. I'd grade it approx. F-12. Not a bad price, probably are not going to find them much cheaper in problem free condition.

I'm glad to see you bailed . I didn't like the reverse of that coin. there will always be a bust half in better shape out there. but like you mentioned they are highly counterfeited .

Quote: decided to pass I'd say you made a very prudent decision, considering all the negative and neutral feedback this particular seller has been receiving.

I would have to disagree with the above, the seller does have a feedback score of over 100,000+ and the neutral/negative feedback over the full 12 months actually equates to less than 0.15%. That's less than a quarter of a percent. That's better than pretty much everyone who doesn't have 100% feedback, and with 100,000 sales you've gotta expect a couple of problems .

I'm just sayin' that sometimes you have to look beyond the numbers and actually read the feedback statements. I believe any potential bidder who reads this seller's neutral and negative feedback comments will certainly proceed with caution before submitting a bid.

Yeah I totally understand what you mean, but if you do read some you should note there are 3000 positives against the 20 negatives and some of them read things like "Described as BU but is actually AU" or the great one that reads "Best seller, will buy from again!" . I'm saying I would buy from him based on his feedback and wouldn't be worried.

I've bought an item or two from this seller. No problem. That said, I'd easily have passed on the above Bust Half. Comparable pieces at the large shows can be had for $15 less and more. Quote: I'm not too comfortable buying coins online seeing all these counterfeits... The modern, predominantly Chinese counterfeits, tend to look in XF-ish condition. The contemporary counterfeits however are generally low grade and/or damaged - likely inflicted by some disgruntled recipient over a hundred years ago. These have value and are gaining increasing respect by dedicated collectors.
