Funny.

For the book of JFK's I past in my hand 626.500 coins in all strikes. I keep 2500 which are the coins for the book. The rest all was release in the wild, except some sliver which I opt to send for melting at the Mint. Like this we can keep more interest of those ignored coins by many peoples.

How works? Simply: Buy 3 4 bags of 2000 coins, analyze, keep some and rest release. Release on shopping on to locals banks.

This is Farm_Flavor back again, the Farmer who circulates half dollars at farmers markets here in the greater SF Bay Area. I lost access to one of my email servers back at the end of August 2019 and did not want to create a new login. Well, I looked and saw this thread is still going and broke down and created Farm_Flavor1 to continue with this activity....
As readers who followed this for a long time saw, I circulate the half dollars mostly giving change to customers and now we are at the point where less than three customers a market do not prefer the halves! Especially including new customers who almost always love them. I have continued to give out these coins and $2 bills as change, capping the $2 bills by what I take rather than demand.... The COVID shutdowns ultimately improved our farmers market sales a bit while killing our restaurant business that has still not fully recovered.

One other half dollar fact is that silver coins have become essentially non-existant in the boxes and I have handed out at least 6 boxes of 2017D, 2018D, 2020D and 2021D coins - over 6000 coins. I do not count the coins that have come in against the totals, they go back out and there have been significant amounts of the 2017D, 2020D and 2021D coins that I have received back from customers at least half of which they averred did not come from me. Vaery interesting indeed. Also, the number of people who have told me that they now are at least casual coin collectors keeps increasing and many have said it is because of our handing out the half dollars and $2 bills....

So I have a dilemma. Since my last post we have handed out over $38,000 in Half Dollars. All have been in small numbers at a time, no full boxes or rolls to pay for a purchase. Should I declare that amount or only a part to keep this specific challenge going?
