15 dollar coins spent on Los Angeles County transit system: 3 SBA 4 SACs 2 Pres 6 Pres (NIFC) - 3 Reagan, 3 Eisenhower I only spend dollar coins in the transit system, since they seem to continue to circulate there -- people receive them as change from the fare machines and then eventually spend them to purchase more fare, and the dollar coins received on buses are loaded back into the fare machines. Also, retail stores within and near transit stations tend to receive the coins and hand them out. If I spend dollar coins at retail stores away from transit stations, the clerks tend not to hand them out and they will probably just end up in a vault someplace. $ 73,502 to go |
