Spent a Presidential dollar at a vending machine at work tonight. $53,979.00 to go. Interestingly--or perhaps not--the machine next to it that sells sandwiches gave me a 1979-S SBA for change tonight when I used a $5 note to buy a mini-pizza. I received another '79-S from the same machine last week. Those go in the box with all the other S-mint coins I pull from circulation. Quite often, that same vending machine will dole out BU Presidential dollars in change. I always use $5 notes to buy things from it.

Spent today at a workplace vending machine: 2007-P Jefferson dollar, AU55 gold 2000-P Sacagawea dollar, AU50 gold, lots of bag marks $53,973 to go... Sometimes, I scratch my head regarding the alloy used for American Golden Dollars and the Canadian Loonie. Surely they could've come up with something that doesn't turn a dull, ugly olive brown over time.
