I was just wondering if anyone knew an approximate value or cost of what it would be to complete a Canadian type album from 1858-1973 with 84 coins total? I have seen completed sets on ebay for around $1400-1500 or more but was wondering how close that was to actual? And I am not talking all BU coins or anything like that. Thank you!

It's not the album -- it's the quality and rarity of the individual coins within the set that determine its value. Most buyers of completed sets with some BU are only looking for select upgrades and don't necessarily purchase a completed set with the intention of keeping it intact.

I'd be interested in other opinions but I think completed sets generally sell for far less than the sale total of individual coins or small groupings. Which is why they're appealing for multiple upgrades.

pretty much with wildflowerAB, unless one is contemplating giving the set as a gift.

Ok well was looking to buy one and I see these for sale and am wondering if anyone has completed it with mid-grade coins. Usually go for $1400 but this one is on ebay for around $350 (reserve not met of course though)

As others have mentioned, it is all about the grade of the individual coins, especially the halves and dollars. The rest of the coins are pretty easily available, except maybe a few of the '58's and that's all grade as well. You will be able to buy an almost completed set and fill in the blanks much easier than a whole set or starting from scratch.

Yeah DBM that is the one I was curious about. And I don't know anything about CCCS but those graded coins look pretty nice.
