You got yourself a Cud. Its a pretty common error but cool none the less.

its called a Cud. basically a Cud is a die chip that touches the rim.

You can find yours listed already here cuds-on-coins.com it does have a premium I'm not sure where the value of yours would be but you can get ideas on ebay

That was my guess CM...considering the condition of coin and size of the Cud if I had to take a guess that's exactly where I was gonna be with it-great minds think alike! Lol

Correct amundo, Slamnbass. If it were mine, I'd put it in mineral oil with a soft toothbrush to get the grime off. To me that's okay, because it's not a hundred dollar or more coin. Mineral oil is in most baby oils.

Just going through some old posts looking for interesting comments.

In addition to the Cud, it looks like your coin has a floating roof on the reverse as well.

Looks like a CU-1c-1969S-02 to me, but you'd have to ask BJ or Fred about that, looks like a match but not entirely sure.


Much less than $20 in that condition. Maybe if it was problem free. Probably more like $10, since it looks like XF details.
