I posted this earlier in the forum I thought was OK, but was told it wasn't. Instead of the post being moved over to this forum, it simply disappeared, so I hope I'm not violating a rule by posting this again:
Posts that aren't done correctly are being deleted. I'm done getting upset about it and posting warnings. Now its just delete > move on to the next topic.
Bobby, as a new forum member, I believed I was posting in the correct forum. I read the rules carefully when I first joined a couple months back, saw the many "Counterfeit xxx yyy" topics posted by others in the U.S. Modern Coins, and assumed that must be where my post goes. This was the very first counterfeit coin I had reported. I'm new. Had it not been for a helpful member providing a quick explanation of new policy with a link to this forum right before my post got zapped, I would have been even more confused. I was even hesitant to post it again in the new forum out of concern I might be doing something that could earn me a suspension.
I understand the frustration of overseeing people who don't even bother to read rules, but maybe new users could be better served if there was a clearer and more visible explanation of new policy. I've since checked the Announcements and Updates forum and I do see mention of trying this new forum as a "test," but from my perspective as a new member, I initially saw "Coin Community Rules - Please Read Before Posting" with "Last Update 2/16/2014" in red letters and thought I was good to go.
