A dateless Buffalo is still a win in my book, especially for only five cents.

Did another box today, and filled 5 holes in my 38 to 61 album! I have 18 holes left. Notable finds: 2 x 1938, this was a hole filler 1941s, a hole filler 1943s war, a hole filler 1945s war in quite nice shape, a hole filler and, a 1929 buffalo!

Skibdib, nice finds! I have yet to find a 43-s and my 38-p is worn pretty flat. Hopefully my 4 boxes coming tomorrow will actually produce some hole fillers!

Looks like I am finally going to have to bust out the camera!! Did a box last night: 1889 V nickel! First one of those for me. 1934 Buff with great details compared to most I find 1970D clipped (only my third!) and a counterstamp with someone's initials.. JBK Lots of 40's and 50's too. Haven't looked through them yet... once I see a 4 or 5 I put it in a separate pile to look through after.

here is the picture: The buff looks better in hand and the V nickel is in rough shape, but is much easier to see the detail in hand. Still happy with it!

I just got four boxes of nickels today. Before I started, I came to this post to try to get my motivation up. After about ten rolls, I've pulled 15 pre 60's and a 2009-D. I think this will end up being a great box. Thanks for the motivation Justin with your great finds! That V nickel is pretty beat up but it's more than anything I've found. EDIT: I looked back down to the roll of coins I had just found the 2009-D in and.... A 2009-P is looking right at me. Two 2009s in one roll. I'm happy!

Would you believe that I have actually only found 5 more 2009's than Buffalo nickels in over 20 boxes?

I did two bags this morning. Hit fairly big - over 600 pre-60 nickels - almost all 40's. 11 rolls from one bag. I threw back a few dozen more that were banged up 50d was included in the good bag!! Not overly excited as it is my 5th one and its in the 4th best shape. Also got 3 wars (45s was best), 36 and 20 , 2004 s proof, misaligned die error - minor and a 1952 silver roosie. Needless to say I will be getting the next bag of dimes and the next bag of nickels off the coin counter. Pics now attached. First pic shows the 600+ nickels. Second pic shows the better finds - including the 50D and the silver dime.

2 Bu found 2 years ago. Then one with a banged up d found here. Then a week later on vacation in PA I found another one in a box and then this one in a bag. I think my dad has 8 or 9 at least. We both hunt a lot. At least 20k ($) in nickels each year easy for me
He has been doing it a lot longer, but he does somewhat less. Maybe 6-8k ($) per year.
