These 2 notes were in a group that I bought a few months back. I saw they had a high catalog value. Would they be worth submitting to be graded? I don't know how to grade paper money well. They don't have any folds (except that pinch on the 5NF, although it doesn't show on the reverse), they're crisp and has that paper wave. That's just dust on the sleeve of the 10NF and not a pinhole. What do you think they would grade? Do they actually sell near the catalog values? If my lcs can send in coins for PCGS, does that membership apply to PCGS Currency as well? Any help is appreciated.

I am not sure about the TPG questions but two very attractive notes which I imagine will grade well if sent.

I just love this style of printing on French banknotes.

The Dix Fracs in particular, I am quite familiar with.
Both notes were in common circulation when I was in France, way back in 1970. I also remember spending a couple of 50 NF notes.

I only have about 100 banknotes, and my banknote collection is not active, and I don't really know to grade banknotes especially from a picture, unfortunately.

The registration of the faces on each side of the note is perfect. Hold them up to a strong light, and you will see what I mean.
The other great aspect of them is the pallette of colors that were used.

I have a copy of the Dix Francs, but it is certainly not CFU*. I have it for two reasons:
1. I happen to like the design, and
2. Brings back memories of my time in Frence so long ago, when I was driving a double deck bus from Bombay (Mumbai) to London.

At the time I visited France in 1970, a 12 gramme .835 fine silver 5NF coin circulated alongside the 5NF banknote. In circulation, the 5NF note was much scarcer than the coin. After 1970, the silver coin was replaced a nickel version of it, of exactly the same design and dimensions. I do not know if the new nickel coin was in circulation together with the 5NF note.

*Crisp Flat Uncirculated = Uncirculated in coins.
