I've been looking through the same box of cents that I pulled my 1998 WAM out of; I think I just found the first 1985 D DDR. It shows doubling to the left side of the 4th memorial column, much like the numerous 2000 P DDRs I have found that show the same kind of doubling to the left of the 7th column. Just posting here for confirmation as I am sure that it is authentic.

I did, there's one on the obverse in front of Lincoln's forehead, but the doubling doesn't mat h the description of a gas bubble for me

It looks similar, but I think it's a well placed gouge.

I would honestly be shocked, but I'm not a closed-minded fool. Lol.
