I have been fortunate to find a couple of these in well-circulated condition, but it is much prettier in this condition.

Nope, in a bunch of wheat pennies I had. I used to have my cashiers collect them for me when I was in retail for 40+ years.

I see the doubling areas, but I have a question about them. How can you tell that from Machine Doubling. I know you usually look to see if the area in question is raised, but this looks like flat Machine Doubling to my eyes. Is this a different type of doubling with different things to look for? I'm still getting the hang of this. Thank you for your help.

One of the first things your eyes should pick up is the extra thickness in the letters-then take a look at the notching on most of the lower left Letters in the motto...you should be able to at least see the spread in the GO of GOD nothing flat about that but more of it will take time of seeing a lot more of them and continuing to look at examples

When you see a post like this look at it then go to coppercoins or doubleddie.com and look at their examples sometimes they will explain it better and point other subtle differences out to you and it will help you learn and help train your eye...it takes time still learning myself all the time

I see it in the GO in GOD. Had to look at it a minute to see it because it overlaps the original letters pretty good. Thanks for your help and advice. :)
