SPP-Ottawa Moderator Canada 10458 Posts	Posted 12/22/2015 3:25 pm Nope. The little 'P' mintmark under the obverse means this coin was struck on a multi-ply plated planchet. Those are steel planchets, with a thin nickel layer, a thicker copper layer (makes the coin softer to strike) and a final nickel layer. Once these coins hit circulation, it is common to see the copper plating under the outer nickel plating on the rims and on the high points. And SPP-Ottawa what I was saying is could it be a planchet or a mint worker throwing an American coin in to the mix.
