I'm at a "NOPE" on the date. If that is a die crack between the "B" and the hair - you might want to dig through examples of the SLQ's to see if you can isolate it to a unique date. PG

You need to do the CSI thing with the etching acid to raise serial numbers.

There is no such thing as a 1921S or 1931S SLQ. There are only six possibilities since the date is of the raised variety- 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1923, or 1924.

I would not buy such a coin unless it is a 1923S and you can raise the date with the acid etching. This is one of the reasons collectors are willing to pay up for LSQ's before 1925 with strong dates. A 1916 with a strong date is worth $6000-7000 in just "F" condition. The dates and faces of this coin really took a beating. When the coin was first minted people rushed out to collect it because the first mintage was just 52,000. I bet half to 3/4 of these early coins are as smooth as the one you show in your photo, but nobody knows for sure.

I think COTW used vinegar or something to revive a date on a Barber quarter. Ask him if it works with SLQ's. It'd be amazing if it does.
