Interesting article on the Franklin Mint that I thought was a good read.

The RCM is going down the same route, but since it's a crown corporation it won't go bankrupt.

interesting read.

I was searching (first on the CCF site, of course) for information about Franklin Mint minting of proof and circulation coins for non-U.S. countries. Apparently Franklin Mint did do such contract minting, but I'm still looking for a "list" of countries/years/denominations for which Franklin Mint did the minting.

Great history of the Franklin Mint!! I remember watching as Morley Safer walked up to the Franklin Mint booth which was next to the Krause Pub's. booth that I was manning then. I cheered the 60 Minutes show when it aired the Franklin Mint report and was warned by my boss "to remember what side my bread was butter on". That was the time nearly everyone called the flood of new high value foreign coins NCLT which stood for non-circulating legal tend or unofficially non-circulating legal trash. Any how in the Standard Catalogs I listed all the FM issues under the respective country listings by type, date and with mintages if available. I am sure this would take some time to go through the SCWC 20th Century edition but worth while if you are interested.
