I've found a few of these and wasn't sure what the extra lines coming off of the dates were. There are no other marks like this on the coins and they look normal otherwise.

Here are pictures of three different coins:

Did you check out Brian's DDO listings?

Hey Kevin! Good to hear from you!

The closest thing I can come to the 1962 WDDO-028....but I dunno. The 1962 is so beat up it's hard to tell. Are these kinds of lines common on nickels? I've never found any doubling on nickels (other than MD of course!) and I'm not sure what to look for. I just know this looks odd.

Here is a pic of the "62" and the "RT" which kinda look like the WDDO-28 like I said.

These flowlines are common on LDS/VLDS coins. And for whatever reason, 1962 is an unusually common find in these dies states. I'd say the 60 and 62 are LDS/VLDS specimens. But I'd look closer at that 1963. That little hook on the 3 might be something. Can you get a broader picture of the right side of the coins?

FYI - I cleaned my desk...which is a good thing. I located that error nickel I snatched up for you. I also snagged a IHC I think you'll like. And I'll be sending you a 2004P DDO Stage D nickel...so you'll have at least one DD nickel.

D - I did a browse of Brian's site and CONECA listings. I don't see anything for the 60 or 63. Likely just the flow lines off/around the devices.

Thanks for the help Kev! I'll try getting some pictures posted of the '63. I've been really focusing on nickels lately; trying to find either my first RPD or DD. I've been coin collecting for about two years now and haven't found either a RPM or DD on any nickels. I'm not sure if I'm over looking them or not looking for the right thing, etc. I've been through A LOT of nickels since I first started and figured I should of at least found a '64 RPM by now.....right?!?!

Thanks for sending those coins my way! Seeing DD nickel in hand might just be the thing I need to help me. :)
