I'm back from my trip. In addition to the D nickel and D Shawnee quarters at Sea-Tac, I left with two P dimes and six P cents. I got a lot of Shawnee quarters from both mints, but spent most of them. Both dimes show moderate die wear.

Looking at the dimes, I think they look better than most brand-new 2015 coins. I don't know how to describe it, but a lot of 2015 dimes have a sort of overly shiny appearance that I don't like, which is not present on these two dimes.

Interesting observation. I will have to compare my 2016 to the 2015.

Over the past six days I have gone from having found only 2016-D cents to having every cent-through-quarter issue except the P nickel and the D dime. The dime shouldn't take long since I already have the P, but the Philly nickel will probably take another few months or so to show up in change here. I will be flying to Mallorca this summer, so if I have a connection on the East coast I'll make sure to buy something at the airport in the hope of receiving some new P-mint coins.

EDIT: Here's another observation I have made about the quality of coins this year.
The 2016-P halves posted on the previous page seem to have higher relief, like those minted in the seventies and early eighties, than the low relief coins of recent years.

I have still keep getting P Shawnee Quarters, and P Pennies. Haven't seen a dime or nickel yet. And now that I thought about it, I still haven't seen any 2015 Saratoga Quarters. I think they missed Boston somehow. May have to dig find somewhere to trade for them.

3 more 2016D pennies in change today, along with 2 2015D dimes.

Still nothing but 16D pennies here in Eastern Kansas.

I finally (!!) got my first circulated 2016 - a P dime this past Tuesday, April 11. In fact, I got two of them at the same time.

This is about as late in the year as I can recall.

Traveled from Baltimore to Denver last week, and got my first 2016 quarter from a Subway store: 2016D Cumberland Gap. Otherwise still only found 2016 Philly cents in circulation.
