What the different between S and no S and where to spot the S or no S mint mark ?

New guy here and I think this is the wrong page...

to CCF. The mint mark is right under the date. The no S MM is on the proof dime only.

Philly did not start putting P on the dimes until 1980. So unless it is a proof struck coin, a 1975 without a mint mark, it is a Philly.
