Does the mint issue gold State Quarters?

Solid gold quarters, no. Gold colored State Quarters, yes. I rememeber where I used to work at there was 1 gold colored State Quarter per roll. I don't know if they continue to do this.

Any gold State Quarter will not come from the mint. These are layered by companies after they are minted.

I got a gold colored Louisiana State Quarter today, but I've never seen one so I didn't know.

this quarter looks like the saq dollar or the president dollars.

As Becky said, the mint doesn't produce them. I don't know how they would have made their way into circulation, either...unless someone found out how worthless (sorry, "not special") they were and tossed them...

NO the US Mint only clad & silver SQ
@ the TV folks plate them!
But after the State Quarter are done they have a bill in congress to do a solid gold set all with a limit yet unknown or even if bill will passes
