If there is no raised relief, but just painted Caribou head, any 25 cent ATB will be better choice for price and design.

I wonder what portion of the mintage a dealer gets of a commissioned coin. I wonder if its as high as three quarters. My rep mentioned today, the mint does keep a small percent for their customers. Bromberg also commissioned the 2oz glow series, which there's one more to come out. This caribou quarter is the most boring of this series. They don't seem to have much relief, maybe its different in hand. For 5 oz coins I like the 3 coin enamel hida sp set. I just cannot afford it. Those probably amazing in hand.

It is not really sold out because every coin dealer has it in stock for issue price. The RCM had very limited supply and even MC members could not even order the coin from the mint since it was not part of the release email.

Wow sold out on the coin show in less than an hr. It did look way better on TV, then the mints illustration. I like how they did the field, much better than the 2 oz voyageur effigy side. I don't care for wavy lines. The caribou did look decent. Steve said something strange, regarding it being a yearly series. I found the comment rather odd. He referred to last year being gilded and this year being in color. Is he planning another for next year. Usually a coin is a 1 time issue and not repeated in other forms. Next year will there be a 2 oz version. I did notice the paint quality looks different on the other coins.

You are allowed up to half of the mintage if you commissioned a coin, how many was sold on the airwaves if some one noticed. You can over do any theme this could be the example if they continually a yearly version.

So, in part, is Bromberg the RCM. Bed partners I say. RCM uses the shopping channel to dump their coins and he uses it on his commissioned coins.

I hope the new prez of the RCM will change the policy regarding commissioned coins, as of last year any dealer can do it by paying for the cost of the dies and certain production costs and your allowed up to half of the mintage. The Shopping show along with his showmanship is a perfect outlet for the RCM to move vast amounts of product, it's a great partnership.

He mentioned he will be back, the 1st Wednesday of every month with the new releases. It does seem like a stepped up marketing approach. The special lightening, makes those coins sparkle. It seems the past couple of years, he's on there more and more. So must move an impressive amount of stock.

New or old Prez. RCM need to turn a profit for the corporation. If they need to climb in to bed with Bromberg/ Shopping Channel not a big deal. To Pocket change "So must move an impressive amount of stock." Under statement

Steven has a natural flair, easy to watch. However, watching the other guy, that has done the show a couple times, is just painful. The other guy isn't as comfortable on camera, so he stumbles a lot. Some people just have a natural style. It showcases the product well. Just don't buy into the hype. Its as close as I can get to a coin store. Thanks to this forum I know not to fall for the hype. In this vein it is entertaining. I just wish I could light my coins, so they looked as nice.
I hate to think how much it costs for an hr of air time. It is a brilliant selling venue, much better than stock photos on the net.

He has a beautiful store north of Toronto, worth a trip if your close and has a staff of around 35 so you must move a lot of stuff, plus he has been at it for 20 something years. CCC matched the RCM offers of free goose coin along with a gift set and sold the 2oz coin at issue, kind of matched most of the RCM's mc offerings to retain customers.

Quote: He has a beautiful store north of Toronto, worth a trip if your close 100% agree My preferred place, if I want to see the coin "in hand" Will not deal with them with bullion for collection - they treat is as just bullion piece, and will not sell them, case everything they will buy for metal content. But they have beautiful display and honest tactics for hot items.
