It can be fun looking at these coins that are already graded and try to guess the grade. I found a few I thought may be good for review, and will start with an 1882-P Dollar graded by ANACS almost exactly a year ago.

Nice strike and good luster along with what appears to be a cool die crack through the cap give this one a great shot at choice mint state. The eye appeal might fall a touch short though. I would grade it MS63 but a MS62 since ANACS has tightened up a bit.

I am not the greatest photographer, especially when it comes to full coin shots. The coin actually has great eye appeal in hand, but I agree it looks a little funny in the photos, reflectivity in the fields. Thank you for the reply!

This one I was a little disappointed with the outcome. Easy 63 I thought, with a good shot at 64. It really is a great coin in hand. ANACS certainly does do well grading coins though... ANACS 64 dollars tend to be very nice! Well this one did not make the cut.. thanks again to all who replied.

Congrats on a discovery coin. I was going to search this one looking for that obverse die crack (didn't even notice the spear through the M). Definitely under-graded.

Thank you Dave! Yeah the gouge through the M does not pop as well as the crack in those photos, but it's definitely there ;) Yeah... the coin is an easy 63 all day long, and maybe 64 on a good day. That's just my opinion of course.

They seem to have been a little hard on this one grade wise.
