Hi all, I'm new here and the reason I'm here is because I found some coins in an old box which belonged to my Grandfather.

I came across two coins that looked pretty interesting because I can't seem to make out what it is.

The first one posted here looks Thai in origin but I'm confused because there is some Chinese characters on the reverse side and I know Thai's don't read or write Chinese. The reason it looked Thai to me was because of the picture of the Thai temple. I'm from South East Asia and I've been to Thailand so it really does look like a Thai temple to me.

Would appreciate if someone could identify this coin and err.. hopefully there is some value in it.

Thanks in advance.

digicube - your coin is really attractive as well as interesting as it seems to combine separate cultures....

actually, there are 40,000 some odd Buddhist temples in Thai land and of course there are zillions of Buddhists in China...

so the cross-connection is well made...the history of your coin would be rather interesting to read about if you pursue it...

Be welcome,

Hnry

It is a reproduction ("fake") of this rare Thai coin.
