I have heard about this olive oil cleaning technique.
Can this be used to clean or brighten up my SAC?
Some of these are awful golden/brown. Mostly 2000's
Having asked this , does it have to be a certain tpe of olive oil such as extra extra virgin or can it be the cheapy store brand?
Will this also brighten up SBA's as well.
I know not to wipe it off just rinse, but will the oily film remain with just a rinse?

The only use of the olive oil that I know is to remove dirt from dug coins by Metal detectorist. They let a possible valuable coin set in olive oil for two weeks. Don't know for sure but it might be slightly acidic.

Just leave it natural. Store your coins in a cool, dry place and put it in an air-tite if you don't want further toning.

You have to take stories like that with a grain of salt. What I mean is some people that have no idea of something just repeat what they heard somewhere and don't really know what's going on.
For one thing any oil will leave a deposit on your coins. That is a trait of oils. Supposed to do that.
Next not all Olive Oils are the same. Regardless of what is on the lable the possibilities of any batch of an organic product being exactly the same as another is very doubtfull. The Olive Oil you use may be a slight bit acedic, corrosive, contaminated with any slight other substance.
Now that you have an oil on your coins you must get that off. So you now dip the coins in something like Acetone. Then you rinse with distilled water. Then you blot or blow dry. And then you find your slowly cleaning a coin.
In other words DO NOT USE OIL TO CLEAN COINS.
DO NOT CLEAN COINS.
However if you insist, why not just use battery acid.
