Hi All.
I have a question about the 1981 proof set, they list a type 1 and type 2 set. The type 1 is with a filled "S" and the type 2 with a clear "S". I have this set and all the coins look to have a clear "S" however because I do not have a set with a filled mint mark to compare it with is it that obvious when you look at the two sets side by side? I tried to get a picture of both sets but could not find any thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm not sure but I think it's only on the Susan B Anthony dollar coin.

take a look at photos comparing the two varieties of mint marks, I think theres one in Red Book and blue book. both are actually "clear" but some retard from 25+ years ago gave them descriptions of filled and clear. the first s, the inexpensive one, is the same style as the s on 1980 proof coins. the second s, the expensive one, is unique to a small minority of 1981 proof coins. dollars and cents are the toughest to get, but all 6 denominations arent common. a proof set with all 6 type ii's is very valuable

Not even sure what a clear S is on that proof set. Mine are absolutely all filled. I only heard rumors of a clear S but not mine. And really noticable. Filled S mint marks are just blobish looking.
