I bought this quarter and was looking at the reverse and
noted the faded missing horn on the back antler.
Check out the pics and any comments welcome.

SilverDon I was wondering I notice that coin is struck off center. would that cause the antler. to be missing or fading that's a nice coin like it.

I don't know Rocky, looks like it may be as a result of a weak strike and that could be from the off centre strike. Not enough metal made it to that part of the die. Off centre, weak strike maybe?

Filled die is another option, if the die had grease it would prevent the metal from getting to the frosted part of the die.

The small portion of the rear antler to the left of the 1 in the date also appears to be less than normal. Is it so in hand?

You are correct DBM, a bit of antler is there
but not fully formed, it is not frosted like the rest, sort
of fades to nothing closer to the date.
