Back in the 1960's I had several Whitman folders filled with English coins. For months now I have looked for them. Tonight, I have them.

I asked a grandson to search the bottom of a closet, and he promptly found 11 folders of English coins, as well as one for silver dollars (empty) and one for Buffalo nickels.

Listed below are the English folders found, what they contain, and some questions.

1. Great Britain Pennies

I have the Collection No. 2, 3, and 4. No. 1 may be somewhere in the closet. The collection is complete from 1888 through 1962. To complete Folder No. 2, I would need 1881, 1885, 1886, and 1887. Was 1962 the final year the large penny was minted?

2. Great Britain Halfpennies

I have only one folder. The first space is for 1937, and the last coin I have in the folder is 1967. I need a 1937. And, is 1967 the final year the halfpenney was minted?

3. Great Britain Farthings

I have three folders of Farthings. From 1916 through 1956, I am only missing two coins -- a 1929 and a 1956.

4. Great Britain Threepence (silver and brass)

Just a few coins.

5. Great Britain Sixpence

Just a few coins.

6. Buffalo nickels

Any answers to the above questions will be appreciated. And, should any member have coins I need, perhaps we could trade, or I could purchase.

1. No, pennies go up to 1967, with "proofs only" in 1970.

2. Yes, unless you count the 1970 proof.

I've got a 1975 HalfPenny from Great Britain.

Or do you mean before decimalisation.

Just found a 1964 penny, so there's one more space filled!
