A year ago when I bought the 2015 Vol 2 version - an inch thick - I was flabbergasted at the sheer volume of NCLT, the majority of it minted within the last 10 years. That was an eye opener in itself. At 200 or so NCLT mintages each year, in the near future Charlton's either going to need to publish Vol 2.1 and Vol 2.2 or attach little wheels to roll it with lol! Another example - Welcome to the World, as proclaimed by RCM and the current 2016 release - "SELLS OUT every year! Order yours before they're all gone!" 2016 mintage is 20,0000 Okay, so I can fall for hype as easily on anyone but I flip open out my Charlton Vol 2 and what do I see? 2011 - mintage 7,059 2012 - 9,999 2013 - 14.870 2014 - 15,000 Already in 2013 the resale value was beginning to flatten. And while it's not my intention to derail this thread, I think the reason WHY certain issues have increased in value is equally important to WHAT. Otherwise future buyers can easily be misled into buying solely because of positive trends in the past.

I dont mean to derail this thread either but some other additional points have been made here that I totally know to be true and those are-
1- all trends have a start and finish in coins,,, those trends come and go based on collectors cycles, something I see in all hobbies, including coins
2- in coins, some great performing coins are not made necessarily 100% gold or silver... as an example, there are sterling silver coins out there holding their initial release price.
anyways, dont mean to derail the thread!

I think all the glass bugs were issued at 149.00 so only the increase US dollar created the break even on the butterfly coin.

The RCM issue price for the Glass Ladybug and Glass Bumble Bee was $139.95 CAD. Following releases (e.g., Butterfly, Frog) were priced at $149.95 CAD.

I'm not sure of this, the ladybug has had it's run, plus the RCM with increased mintage and greed just destroyed the series.

Right now in my ebay auctions, I have a few coins going for above issue-price. 2008 Montreal Canadiens Loonie $36.99 ($24.95 for entire set) 2009 Congratulations Quarter $35.00 ($9.95 for coin) 2009 Oh Canada Quarter $31.00 ($19.95 for entire set) 2010 Oh Canada Quarter $35.00 ($19.95 for entire set) 2014 Wedding Loonie $24.50 ($19.95 for entire set) It always boggles my mind whenever I do mass sales of coins. There's always those random coins I don't expect to fetch much and someone goes crazy bidding on them. lol I expect a ton of other coins to surpass listing prices, especially my 1998W 2000W 2003W 1999P and Test Token coins.

As per design and efforts involved (Goalie Mask coin) and theme (Ladybug) - they do not worth a fraction of asking price. Ofcause, coin collecting covers multiple factors, so they are the Winners...

i havent tabulated my totals yet for the 2015 privy ANA silver maple leaf but it does look like cutting it to 5,000 helped prices... graded PF 69s slabs looked like they came in mid/high 60s while pf 70s run around mid 150s. I am in the process of putting numbers together but I can certainly see that by the mint reducing numbers, it bumped up prices on the secondary market on auctions. Tie in the fact that PM prices are looking better this year and trying to break the down trend (silver looking better every week, gold has been in an uptrend this year and broke the down trend) and you have a good reward here for collectors of these coins. I been so caught up in compiling data on these that I actually have NOT been able to get one yet lol :/
