Could someone throw some light on this medal, it is certainly copper, 39mm Dia 2.5mm thick but it only weighs 5.7g - the ticket (from 1977) says padded brass? As I uploaded the pic I realised that you can see on the obverse where the reverse has been turned over to make a joint, any info on how where and when? common?

It's called a Shell Card. Light brass outers around a centre card insert for rigidity. Notable amongst these are the so called brothel tokens of Paris. Au Glaces, Belles Poules. It's thought that Cartaux Freres produced most of them. Yours, I have not seen before.
