Can anyone tell me what might have happened to this coin. I thought it was bent but it is not showing bend on the other side. It almost appeared to show in side core of the coin. Weird. Any ideas. Sorting through my dad's newfoundland coins before they go on ebay

Looks like a legit error to me since the V or 5 seems undisturbed meaning it was there when struck?
