1968 Dollar? - Coin Community Forum

Hounddog Bill Pillar of the Community Canada 1222 Posts	Posted 01/31/2016 5:53 pm I came across this 1968 dollar and was wondering if it's one of the coins they're referring to in the Charlton Cat.. This one has the double horizon lines and doubled "68" in the date plus more throughout the reverse legend. Anyone have any knowledge of these? SPP-Ottawa Moderator Canada 10458 Posts	Posted 01/31/2016 6:37 pm I think that one is machine doubled Bill, in the 67th Charlton Catolgue, that would be the CH# 1968 Rev-005. The extra waterlines (punch or hub doubling) variety actually has more separation between them, and tends to be quite scarce. Unfortunately dealers (online and coin show circuits) and even ICCS have called this Machine Doubling variant "Extra Waterlines".
