can someone help me identify this?

The D looks like A Double Die but it also looks like a machine doubled die, and no where else on the coin is it machine double died

Not a doubled die, looks like the mintmark took a hit from something.

Doubled dies do not affect the mintmark prior to 1990 on business strikes because the mintmark was added to the working die by hand through 1989 so it did not go through the hubbing process with the rest of the design.

I agree great pics also. I would also like to thank biokemist6 for the great info on Double dies. That info is priceless. Will save the community alot of questions from me...
