The D looks like A Double Die but it also looks like a machine doubled die, and no where else on the coin is it machine double died Thanks for looking. biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 02/02/2016 1:35 pm Doubled dies do not affect the mintmark prior to 1990 on business strikes because the mintmark was added to the working die by hand through 1989 so it did not go through the hubbing process with the rest of the design.
