1844 Dollar Counterfeit

There is an 1844 CC Dollar posted on ebay that just came to my attention. It has only hours (18 plus) to run before the end, but it should be stopped.

I have simultaneously written to the seller because in checking the seller's feedback I found he is quite likely unaware of the forgery.

I told him to check two facts in any US coin reference:
First - The Ribbon with the motto was first used in 1866.
Second - the mint mark cc was first used on dollars in 1870.

I advised the seller that I was also reporting the coin through channels and advised the only way to avoid termination and possible penalties was to IMMEDIATELY terminate.

The auction is # 191800008960.

As I indicated - I also contacted the seller. Here is his reply:

I guess he is asking to be terminated.

This was the point at which I would have reported the guy to my supervisor.
