Hello

Ive been told that this coin is a French States Orange 1942 Double Tournois.
Please can anyone confirm the date is it 1940 or 1942?
Would this be of any value?
Thank you

Looks like a 2 punched on a 0. The date is obviously 1642 not 1942. You can see one with the date 1642 on NGC - https://www.NGCcoin.com/price-guide...-duid-326291 The condition is not very good so it's not really valuable.

Being an interesting old overdate, your coin could command a bit of a price premium. The coin is in pretty rough shape but the overdate itself is crystal clear. I have no idea how rare such overdates are but note that the NGC link above doesn't mention this one.

on the whole overdates on 17th century French copper is not rare or commanding a premium. Your coin is worth about $5 US but put it on ebay. someone may pay more.
